Boat Rental Chicago - Chicago Boat Rentals Review

Boat Rental Chicago - Chicago Boat Rentals Review

Powerboat Rentals
Powerboats make for great boat rides in Chicago!

Boat rides in Chicago are available all summer long for lakefront and offshore cruising. Take one of our vessels out for a day cruise, or a night cruise. Anchor out somewhere offshore and enjoy your lunch-packed picnic, followed by a cool dip swimming. On Wednesday and Saturday nights, take one of the ships out for the fireworks shows near Navy Pier. Enjoy the city’s historic landmark and the celebrated tradition.

These awesome boat rides in Chicago also offer enjoyable river tours that show off the cities buildings from much closer up. The details on the structures are are mesmerizing as simply enjoying Lake Michigan. With room for up to 12 passengers the outing could easily be turned into a party event. There is a huge foredeck and party deck to accommodate for this. And the large swim platform will allow your group to enjoy all that Lake Michigan and the Chicago River has to offer.

There are great boat rides in Chicago just waiting to be enjoyed. Give our vessel a look. Spend some time choosing your preferred afternoon for a summer celebration. We do not have very many months the weather allows for this sort of sport, so taking advantage of the agreeable weather is a good idea.

River Cruises

Day or night, a river cruise offers a fantastic view of the city from a perspective that can only be seen in a power boat.

No cruise is complete without a little high speed rumble along the shoreline…

For a change of pace, you can choose to stop along the river for a bite to eat or a drink. The Bridgehouse Tavern is a favorite, and has indoor and outdoor seating. Your captain will gladly call ahead to arrange seating for your party.

Fireworks Cruises
The night cruises are the best choice for a fireworks boat rental in Chicago!

A fireworks boat rental Chicago involves cruising down the shoreline for the Navy Pier Fireworks on a 40′ power boat as the sun sets behind the skyline and the city lights come up, makes for a great start to your trip.

Your cruise can take you along the shoreline, for a river tour, or out further from the city. In any case you will enjoy a great view of Chicago on your way to Navy Pier for the fireworks show.

You will either enter the offshore breakwall from the North entrance between the Red/Green light towers, or through the East entrance by the lighthouse.

About 15 minutes beforehand, your captain will position your yacht so you can enjoy the show from a front row view of the Navy Pier Fireworks that you can’t get anywhere else. If you prefer to watch from a distance, you can cruise outside the breakwater during the show. Whichever way you choose, seeing the Navy Pier Fireworks from one our yachts with your experienced and professional crew is a fantastic experience.

After the show you will enjoy a cruise back to the harbor with an awesome view of the night skyline.

SPECIALS

$599 for 2.5 hours, 1-12 people
Mimosa Cruise – Sat/Sun 9-11:30am
Monday Sunset Cruise – Mon 6:30-9pm

A USCG hired captain must be on board, ample fuel allotment and all fees are included. not valid on special event days or holidays, cannot be combined with any other offer or credit.

The rates do not include Chicago Amusement tax of 9%, or gratuity for the crew (which is customary and for excellent service typically ranges from 15-20% of the total cost of the cruise). Fri-Sun rates/times apply to holidays. Fuel is included in the rates: A generous fuel allotment is provided to cover your needs for a standard cruise (a variety of touring, cruising, and high speed cruising, and your captain is responsible for making sure that the allotment is not exceeded).

Captain and Crew

A USCG licensed captain will be on board to pilot the boat, along with his crew member to serve you and your guests, as well as assist the captain. Though the gratuity is the majority of their pay for the trip, the above rate includes an hourly fee paid directly to the captain by either cash (preferred) or credit card. We have a list of several qualified captains that have already passed the screening procedure, and in most cases have captained our boats many times. We can assist you in the very simple process of securing a licensed captain for your cruise.

How long of a cruise should we book?

Cruises have a 3 hour minimum except for mid-day cruises on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (which are 12-3:30pm), and fireworks cruises which are 7-10:30pm on Wednesdays and 7:30-11pm on Saturdays. Longer cruises are available, and other sail times may also be available. Our suggestion is that if you want a river tour or to enjoy the playpen area for a swim or just anchored down with the motors off for a peaceful view of the city and a cold drink, 3 – 3.5 hours is adequate. If you would like to have a river cruise and hang out and the playpen, or maybe stop somewhere along the river, we suggest 4 hours or more.

What about Special Event days?

July 4-5 and Aug 15-17 are special event days. July 4-5 we are offering 6:30-11:30pm cruises for groups of up to 12 for $2140. Air show Sat/Sun we are offering 9:30-3:30pm for up to 12 people for $2568, and Friday 10:30-3:30pm for up to 12 for $2140.

Looking for a shorter cruise?

2.5 hour sails are available Mon-Fri with departure times between 9am and 3pm, and Sat/Sun at 9-11:30am and 4:30-7pm. Shorter sails may not allow time for a river cruise, but is enough time to enjoy the skyline and the lake for a nice cruise, as well as a stop at the playpen.

What is the complete cost of an average trip?

A 3.5 hour rental for a group of 8 is $1144.50 including tax. A typical gratuity would be about $150 to $200. So a total cost of about $1300-$1350. The captain/crew fee paid directly to the captain comes out of the $1144.50, so the total cost is still $1300-$1350 when you add in the gratuity.
